Jonesey from NC

I am a CNA and am on my feet 12-16 hours a day. I have plantar fasciitis, flat "as a pancake" feet, bunions and over pronation. I bought this shoe in a wide and with diabetic inserts. I took out the inserts and the shoe fits great. I also bought this shoe a size bigger to accommodate my bunion. My feet never get tired before 12 hours. However, I only wear them to work and at 6 months they are really starting to show wear.

Still Amazed I Can Run from Indiana

I love running and although I don't do long runs (I am training for a 10k- my longest to date), I do run often. Since I started running, these are the shoes for me! I fractured my ankle when I started running (4 years ago) because of poor shoes (I have flat feet and overpronate) I was suggested these with inserts (which is why I can't say good/bad about arch support) and I've never looked back.

I just bought this shoe and love it! After having my daughter, I developed deep vein thombrosis and was having trouble finding shoes that offer the support, without feeling heavy. With most shoes that offer that support, they are very heavy. With my ongoing issue, those shoes would make my legs feel tired after a short run. These shoes have been awesome so far! I hope to get up my old running mileage with this shoe. Have debated about buying a second pair in case they change the future designs somehow.

I have been wearing their motion control shoes for as long as I can remember. Love the Ariel and its support. Needed a new pair and found that the 2013 model is the only one available. I bought this model out of desperation because my old pair is worn out . . . but this aqua blue color has got to be the worst color choice I've ever had for these shoes. If I weren't so desperate, I would have held off buying these with the hope that Brooks would introduce a better color. I'm not a fashion snob but these shoes really aren't pretty anyway . . . so color is something I look for as a bonus.

Martha from San Francisco, CA

On the advice of my podiatrist, I've worn them for 4 years now. I used to LOVE the shoe. I started wearing the new model a year ago and am SO UNHAPPY!!! The shoe fits totally different. The narrower toe bed is very uncomfortable. Also, the heel fits higher in back. It rubs up against my ankle bone and pulls my sock down in the back. My podiatrist insists that I wear this shoe to correct several other problems I have (neuromas, wide feet, high instep, shredded achilles tendon). I've tried several different lacing techniques and nothing works. I've gotten used to the way the shoe hits my ankle bone, but the sock pull down is EXTREMELY ANNOYING. I've been scouring the web to find the older version of the shoe, but can't find my size. It's time for me to buy another pair of running shoes and I've made an appointment with my podiatrist to find another shoe.

Happy Feet, Happy Knees from Charlottesville, VA

I've worn them for one week and right away my arthritic knee stopped locking up and clicking. I don't need inserts because they are so supportive and comfortable. They do seem to over correct pronation which was not my problem in the first place but correcting my knee and hip posture is a major improvement. I was considering surgery before I found these shoes but now I think I can put it off. I always have plantar fasciitis anyhow (due to arthritis) so I can't blame the shoes for that. A good reflexologist foot masseuse works best for that problem, I've found. They run a little small if you want to wear thick socks, so I got one size larger, same width. I tried several sizes on in a shoe store before deciding so I'm comfortable I made the right choice.
